Elk Community
A neighborhood hub for events, interest groups and neighbors who need a hand.

The outreach map and member data are never shown; screenshots are of the public site.
Why it matters
Walking groups, book clubs and neighbors needing a hand already existed; there was just no single place to see them. Elk Community gives the neighborhood that place, with a volunteer-run back office for keeping it current.
- 01
Join without an account
Events, interest groups and service needs that anyone can sign up for in a few taps.
- 02
Anyone can propose
Neighbors suggest an event, group or need, and organizers approve it from a queue.
- 03
Run by volunteers
Organizers change copy, images and email settings themselves, without a developer or a redeploy.
- 04
Private by default
A private home shows “contact organizer” instead of an address, and consent and text opt-ins are recorded.
